Gloo Books Brand Collaboration

Client: Gloo Books

The client had wanted to design a shirt to offer alongside their library of diverse children’s books and had approached me to help design their first one. Their goal was to have a design that best represents Gloo Books’ ethos and brand. We explored various slogans and used a combination of fun, hand-drawn typography and illustrated elements to create a playful, optimistic design.

Concepts

Narrowing in on designs

We had narrowed down the top concepts, and I started iterating on design variations. I experimented with different areas to fill and leave open for screen printing.

The final design was Open Books, Open Minds, with alternate fill for the typography. This design mimicked the idea of children's pop-up books and was a nod to the Reading Rainbow logo from the tv series.
